What's involved?

The multi-part programme includes four facilitator-led workshops, three teacher-led activities in between our visits and independent study (for students aged 14 and over).

Our facilitators can deliver a range of topics including:

  • CV writing
  • Interview techniques
  • Planning a career journey
  • Financial skills
  • Developing an enterprising mindset

It also offers opportunities to develop core transferable skills such as problem solving, creativity, and being proactive.

The end result builds confident and capable students, furnished with the knowledge they need to make the transition from education to the world of work.

What teachers say

LifeSkills is a really important and interesting programme. I wish I had it when I was at school

The students valued the sessions as they now understand that qualifications are only half the battle to secure the best future that they want for themselves.

The workshop was excellent. It had practical and real-life scenarios that apply to the world of work and group activities that allowed pupils to gain insight from each other. It was helpful with getting students to develop a deeper understanding of life skills and their application to the world of work.

The Barclays volunteers made the workshop come to life for the students. The volunteers were able to share real-life experiences and their own career paths to reinforce the session. The volunteers and the facilitator made the students all feel supported and listened to.
