NHS NextGen Nurse

Team work, problem solving and listening are skills which are used every day by nurses up and down the country.

And these same skills are discovered by students in Year 7 - 9 during our nursing insight workshops, designed in partnership with regional NHS England & Improvement teams.

What's involved?

Workshops are hosted by a professional Talent Foundry facilitator alongside NHS nursing ambassadors, who visit your students in school to give a comprehensive insight into the wonderful world of nursing.

During the workshops, students get hands-on with practical activities such as measuring blood pressure or exploring how to identify patients for a clinical trial.

The Nursing Ambassadors visiting your school share their unique insight into the nursing profession and various specialisms. We also discuss the different fields of nursing taking your students through various nursing career options:

  • Mental Health
  • Community
  • Research
  • Adults
  • Children's and Learning Disability

And as we chat through the different pathways and routes, we consider study options such as degree apprenticeships, so that young people can have all the information they need to choose the right route for them to become a nurse.

The sessions also dispel and debunk the myths and misconceptions around nursing and enhance an interest in a nursing career. NHS nursing ambassadors provide students with key knowledge and advice from a range of perspectives.

This programme aims to attract more students who identify as male or are from ethnic minority backgrounds to consider nursing, as we work to dispel gender stereotypes within the profession, more details about this criteria is available on booking.
