What's involved?

Students take part in a series of curriculum-linked challenges, supported by volunteers from Rise partner companies that:

  • engage students to work collaboratively
  • create tasks that are linked to both the curriculum and future careers
  • build confidence
  • develop skills that are both familiar to the classroom and relevant to the workplace

Schools can book up to five workshops.

What teachers say

Fantastic opportunity to build essential skills through tasks linked to the curriculum and the world of work, while working with volunteers from the world of finance who bring it all to life.

This was very successful, and it gave those young people who lack confidence, struggle to identify what they are good at and that don't yet have a specific career in mind, an opportunity to engage with a programme that was better suited to their needs.

Excellent, inspiring, thought provoking and vastly different to students’ usual lessons.

Well presented and encouraged pupils to discuss their skills. Talent Foundry’s partners and volunteers were excellent and provided pupils the faces and experiences required to let them see that they too could go on and have a successful career.

What students say

It was fun and interesting. I learnt a lot of things and improved a lot of skills such as communication.

I learned that certain qualities are key in the world of work such as teamwork and I need to put myself out there to develop these key skills.

I learnt and improved teamwork skills and improved my confidence.
