Team work, problem solving and listening.

Skills which are used every day by nurses up and down the country.

And the same skills are discovered during our insight workshops, designed in partnership with the NHS England & Improvement team, to encourage more students to consider a career in nursing.

We get hands-on with practical activities such as measuring blood pressure or exploring how to identify patients for a clinical trial. We discuss the different fields of Nursing – Mental Health, Community, Research, Adults, Children's and Disability – taking students through their career options. And we chat through the different pathways and routes, such as degree apprenticeships, that young people can take to become a nurse.

“NextGen Nurse is an excellent way to introduce students to a career and what it involves and the different pathways into it.” Teacher

The sessions also dispel and debunk the myths and misconceptions around nursing and enhance an interest in a nursing career. With NHS nursing ambassadors providing students with key knowledge and advice from a range of perspectives.

“The best thing about the day was being able to reflect on my own practice and sharing my nursing experience to inspire young minds.” Nurse ambassador

The fully-funded workshop is available to your Year 10 and 11 and sixth form students and takes place at your school. They are hosted by a professional Talent Foundry facilitator and supported by NHS nursing ambassadors.
