NHS NHS Pathways into Nursing

Year 12 students with an interest in studying nursing at university can join us at a campus near you.

What's involved?

Workshops are hosted on campus at a university partner to provide students with a practical insight into studying nursing, alongside information on how to make personal statements stand out and how to shine in university interviews.

The day, which is hosted by an experienced Talent Foundry facilitator, will include:

  • A hands-on workshop with university academic staff in the skills lab.
  • Opportunities to ask questions to academic staff and current nursing students.
  • A tour of the university facilities.

Final spaces are available at:

  • 6 June: University of Gloucester
  • 29 June: Anglia Ruskin University (Chelmsford)
  • 3 July: University of Manchester
  • 4 July: University of Liverpool
  • 5 July: Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge)

What students say

It provided a good insight into the university nursing course and the type of training you would experience.

The overall experience from learning about the course to the tour has been great. The volunteers and facilitator have been great in supporting me and answering any questions I had.

What teachers say

I was so impressed with the whole experience. The information received was brilliant, from before arrival and then throughout the day. Well organised and resourced. The timing spent on each section I thought was perfect. All my students thoroughly enjoyed the day, and they loved the practical element of going into the hospital classroom.

Students were asked at the beginning of the session what they wished to know. They had access to very experienced academic staff together with current students across different year groups. All staff and students had a wealth of experience to pass on.
