Young people from across the Westcountry had the opportunity to explore the future of artificial intelligence and develop essential employability skills as part of Dell Technologies' innovative AI Escape Room event, supported by The Talent Foundry.

Hosted at Ivybridge Community College, the event welcomed students from primary and secondary schools in the Westcountry Schools Trust, providing an engaging and interactive experience designed to inspire the next generation of talent.

Commissioned by Dell Technologies and delivered by Associate Events, a specialist events company, the AI Escape Room challenged students to work together to solve problems and complete tasks. They explored key concepts around artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, tackling AI ethics and online safety.

Alongside the AI experience, The Talent Foundry delivered a series of practical workshops and activities that helped students develop the essential skills needed for success in education, employment and life. The workshops were designed to complement the Escape Room experience while encouraging students to think about the human skills that technology cannot replace.

Using the Skills Builder Framework, our experienced facilitators engaged students in activities focused on teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity and resilience. These skills are increasingly important as technology continues to transform the world of work and are critical in helping young people prepare for an AI-enabled future.

Jenni Anderson, Chief Executive at The Talent Foundry, said:

We were delighted to support Dell Technologies and their event delivery partner to bring this exciting experience to young people across the Westcountry. While artificial intelligence is transforming the workplace, essential skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity and resilience remain vital. It was fantastic to see students engaging so enthusiastically with both the AI Escape Room and our skills-based activities.

Brian Horsburgh, UK & Australia Small Business Country Manager at Dell Technologies, said:

Dell were extremely proud to host 160 students from 10 local schools at Ivybridge this summer and it was without a doubt an incredible experience, truly phenomenal. Alongside our partners, Intel, and Windows 11, we showcased the true art of the possible with AI. Technology is constantly evolving and Dell understands the impact that has every single day, making it vital that we engage the education sector and bring schools along on this journey to move human progress forward together.

The event reflects The Talent Foundry's ongoing commitment to helping young people develop the skills, confidence and ambition needed to succeed in the modern workplace, while supporting employers and partners to inspire future talent.
